Welcome to the Department of electrical and electronics engineering. Here, we explore a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. It covers a wide range of sub-fields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, RF engineering, and signal processing. In electronic engineering, we deal with non-linear and active electrical components such as electron tubes, and semiconductor devices, especially transistors, diodes and integrated circuits, are utilized to design electronic circuits, devices and systems, typically also including passive electrical components and based on printed circuit boards. The department aims at exposing our students to hands-on experience and ensure they are ready to practice well in the working environment. Our students have excelled in both class work and practical making them exceptionally marketable in the job market. We have a very motivated teaching and technical staff in the department who contribute greatly in the success of the students. We plan to participate in the TVET fair and robotics contest that exposes our students to the growing labor market and gives then a sharper edge in the same. Our curriculum also includes a one term attachment in the industrial field to ensure the students are fully exposed and this attachment is assessed by the teaching staff from the department. The courses are modular oriented examined by the KNEC and NITA examining bodies
